If it took over two years, there must have been some challenges, but the result is stunning.

I love the idea of a Ladies Lounge – it shows how much thought went into the planning of the theatre.

Also, thanks for posting the footage of the hotel "registry signing", which is a BRILLIANT publicity move. (It seems every woman had fur of some kind on her coat?) I especially liked this exchange:
Q: Did you ever stay at a Grand Hotel before?
A: I don't know. I have to go home and check my towels.

Thanks so much for combining all this history for us. I feel like I've actually been inside the theatre!Silver Screeningshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04955048716754142299noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4959252133628799060.post-82618966058115141532015-03-18T10:56:44.244-07:002015-03-18T10:56:44.244-07:00Thank you so much, Joel--happy you had a chance to...Thank you so much, Joel--happy you had a chance to stop by! And doesn't it just get you even MORE excited for the festival next week? I know that being at the Chinese Theatre will mean even more to me now. :) See you soon!Kimberly Truhlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07568754070267220809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4959252133628799060.post-36987223643403070822015-03-17T14:51:41.242-07:002015-03-17T14:51:41.242-07:00Amazing post...so much great history from these tw...Amazing post...so much great history from these two movie houses!!Joel Williamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03866692896259908078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4959252133628799060.post-7506865749600508572015-03-16T14:17:49.388-07:002015-03-16T14:17:49.388-07:00Thank you, Kay! My goal was to make you feel like you were there, and to give you an even greater appreciation for the place when you are there in person (which you will be in about a week!). I thought I knew a lot about the Chinese Theatre, but now I REALLY know it. It's a very special place that's even more special now.Kimberly Truhlerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07568754070267220809noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4959252133628799060.post-74958534717454715442015-03-16T13:35:48.200-07:002015-03-16T13:35:48.200-07:00Kimberly, your piece here is above-and-beyond. I never knew about Keye Luke, who has always been a favorite. When I sit in the Chinese now, I'll have a fuller, deeper appreciation. Many, many thanks for taking the time to craft such a beautiful piece.Marlinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04442632575933706511noreply@blogger.com
