Appearing in CNN Docu-Series AMERICAN STYLE January 13 and 20

I'm excited that the CNN docu-series I am an expert for - American Style - premieres Sunday, January 13! The first two episodes will be shown back-to-back starting at 9 pm ET.
The four-part series examines how America’s changing style through the decades mirrored the political, social, and economic climate of the time. The production features around 70 cultural icons and fashion experts such as Tim Gunn, Donna Karan, Isabella Rossellini, Vanessa Williams, Beverly Johnson, Isaac Mizrahi, Christie Brinkley, Tommy Hilfiger, Diane von Furstenberg, and AndrĂ© Leon Talley. I am one of only four of the talent to appear in each episode.

The series highlights some of the most memorable moments from fashion and pop culture, and shows how those connect with American history as a whole. The premiere episode explores style in the 1940s and 1950s, how World War II and Hollywood helped create America’s own fashion identity, and the introduction of new trends such as the bikini and zoot suit. The second episode explores the style of the 1960s and 1970s as the youth culture and American style comes into its own.
The remaining two episodes air on Sunday, January 20 starting at 9 pm ET. Episode three is all about the 1980s and the final episode examines the style of the 1990s to the present day.

If you miss seeing it live, CNN has made the series available on demand through their app, cable providers, Sling TV, and more.

UPDATE: The premiere of American Style was an unbelievable success! It was so good that CNN shared the overnight ratings online in a press release. Here are some highlights:

--The 9p ET show had 736k in total viewers, up 69% vs. the prior 4 weeks
--The 9p ET show also had a 59% advantage over its nearest competitor in the coveted 25-54 demo
--The 10p ET show had 721,000 total viewers (revised since release), up 68% vs. the prior 4 weeks
--The 10p ET show was #1 in cable news for the 25-54 demo

A serious moment talking about World War II (above)
and filming the 1940s and 1950s (below)

Discussing the impact of the Kennedys on style in the 1960s
(I can be seen at about the 1:00 mark in the video below)

Here are some clips of the second episode (taken on my phone - pardon the quality) -
first discussing Oleg Cassini and Jacqueline Kennedy

Discussing the impact of the pill on women's lives

Discussing the fight for civil rights

Beginning the conclusion of the 1960s/1970s episode

Week 2 of the series brought me an unexpected honor -
CNN only created graphics with pull quotes for Tim Gunn (week 1) and me (week 2)
