Michelle Obama in Vintage Norell for the Holidays

For TNT's "Christmas in Washington 2010," First Lady Michelle Obama chose a 1950s Norman Norell black lace dress to celebrate the holidays. Mrs. O wears a ton of vintage-inspired pieces, so I'm thrilled to see her seamlessly incorporate true vintage into her wardrobe now as well.  You can see that she's styled this outfit in both a classic and modern way with black kitten heel pumps and dangling diamond statement earrings.  A girl after my own heart, she looks absolutely gorgeous.  Happy holidays, America!

GlamAmor Style--Michelle Obama

It's probably no surprise that I'm a huge fan of Michelle Obama's style.  Though I had been wearing vintage for about a decade, it wasn't until Mad Men came on television and Mrs. Obama entered the White House that my style seemed to resonate with the people around me.  Suddenly, everyone could see how modern the classics could be and that all women could wear them.  And so we watched the shapes and colors of the 1950s and 1960s come back full force into fashion.

Though Michelle rarely wears vintage, her style is classic and I see her wearing dresses and outfits that are clearly inspired by the past.  Here she wears a beautiful tomato red Maria Pinto dress with a diamond brooch added to the neckline.  Patent pumps and stud earrings finish out her polished look.  Deceptively simple and decidedly gorgeous, there's no question that I'll be featuring her again as a perfect modern example of GlamAmor style.

If you'd like to follow Michelle's daily fashion choices, be sure to check out the wonderful Mrs. O blog.
