Happy Birthday, Jean Harlow!

Though an incredibly busy week, I couldn't let the day go by without remembering silver screen goddess Jean Harlow on what would be her 101st birthday.  I adore her and her style, and my next article celebrates her star performance in 1933's Dinner at Eight as part of my Month (or so) of Art Deco.  Dinner at Eight became an iconic moment in film and fashion...Jean absolutely stole the show and set the style for the 1930s wearing Adrian's sensuous Streamline Moderne wardrobe.  This image by George Hurrell shows Jean in the film's famous bias-cut silk gown...so influential that it's still inspiring design today.  Just check out Penelope Ann Miller's Badgley Mischka at this year's Oscars

Happy birthday, Jean!
