The excitement is building for the TCM Classic Film Festival! It is now only days away and film fans like me are already all a-buzz about it online. This year is particularly exciting for me. For one, the theme for 2012 is custom made for GlamAmor--Style in the Movies. Then there are even focuses on the style of film noir and Art Deco design in particular, both of which I've covered on GlamAmor since the top of the year. Another reason for my excitement is that I have been invited by TCM itself to cover the festival as a member of the press. It's a great compliment from my favorite network and means much more access, so I really look forward to bringing you all the highlights.
I'm frequently asked what I'm looking forward to the most and it's sooooo hard...just take a look at this year's incredible schedule! The red carpet for the opening night gala of Cabaret. Kim Novak at the screening of Vertigo and then being immortalized at Grauman's Chinese Theater. Director Stanley Donen discussing Audrey Hepburn, the style icon he directed in Funny Face. Director Norman Jewison discussing Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, the style icons he directed in The Thomas Crown Affair. Robert Evans and Robert Towne talking about Chinatown. Debbie Reynolds and Patricia Kelly talking about Singin' in the Rain. Grace Kelly in High Society poolside at the Roosevelt Hotel. And of course enjoying alllll the movies on the big screen as well as great presentations at Club TCM on topics ranging from the style of film noir to the best of Old Hollywood costume design. I only wish I could be everywhere at once.
Starting Wednesday, be sure to follow GlamAmor on Twitter and GlamAmor on Facebook as I'll be sharing many of my comings and goings in real time at the festival. And after it wraps, you will enjoy tons of photos from the events and Cinema Style Files on movies I attend...I promise to make sure you feel like you were there! Stay tuned to GlamAmor for all the stylish fun.
