Happy 5th Birthday, GlamAmor!

This week I celebrate the birthday of GlamAmor and, incredibly, it's just turned five!  Though the company started late in 2009, the website went live February 8, 2010, and that is the milestone I mark each year.  I'm proud to say that everything I do remains centered on classic cinema and the HISTORY OF FASHION IN FILM, and GlamAmor continues to grow and grow. I have met many of you through the various projects I do, and here are some examples from the past year:

-----

CLASSES AND EVENTS

--Professor of a 15-week college course at Woodbury University on HISTORY OF FASHION IN FILM 1920s-1980s
--Host of a 6-part monthly live webinar series on the HISTORY OF FASHION IN FILM 1920s-1970s based on my college course
(held twice during the year, recordings still available to see)
--Guest Speaker on the HISTORY OF FASHION IN FILM NOIR at the Skirball Cultural Center as part of their huge
Light & Noir exhibition
--Guest Speaker on the HISTORY OF FASHION IN FILM and Grand Juror at the 2014 La Jolla Fashion Film Festival
--Guest Speaker for my 4-part STYLE STORIES series at Annenberg Beach House (continuing in 2015)

CONSULTANCY

--Consultant for getTV, the new classic film network from Sony Pictures Television (continuing in 2015)
--Consultant for Christie's Inc. auction house (ongoing) and writing full-page article for their catalog on Grace Kelly's costume

--Consultant for the Skirball Cultural Center in curating vintage vendors for their Noir pop-up shop

WRITING

--In the midst of writing book #1, which is on the HISTORY OF FASHION IN FILM 1920s-1970s
--Beginning to write book #2, which is an authorized biography of costume designer Jean Louis
--Wrote many articles on iconic costume design and its influence on fashion today, such as Holiday (1938), This Gun for Hire (1942),
Gilda (1946), Sunset Boulevard (1950), Swing Time (1936), Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953), The Philadelphia Story (1940),
Trouble in Paradise (1932), and The Killers (1946) this past year

-----

I deeply appreciate everyone who continues to support my work and are as passionate about classic film and its influence as I am.  As always, it's just me trying to do it all--from the creative to the technological--and I do my best to remain connected to you.  This is why the GlamAmor network reaches so wide with this website (1.5 million+ visitors), social media (10 channels including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, and Google+), and a monthly e-newsletter.  I love to see you join in the conversation.

Thanks to you all and I can't wait to see what 2015 will bring!

Congratulations Kimberly! Happy 5th Anniversary. Keep up the great work, although that's a heavy pace. It's hard to keep up with you - but always interesting!

Thanks so much, my friend! It's funny because I always say it's hard to keep up with you and a few others we know. lol I suppose everyone feels that way a bit. I know the pace will be very different this year because I won't be teaching, though it's always interesting to see what opportunities present themselves among all the planned projects. Can't wait to see you at the TCM film festival, Christian! xo
